NBA Prop Bets 01/22/2022
Cole Anthony UNDER 17.5 points (-110)
Cole Anthony is averaging 18.2 PPG this season, but his splits with and without fellow backcourt mate Jalen Suggs, are staggering. Without Jalen Suggs in the lineup, Anthony is averaging 20.8 PPG in 13 games. With Suggs on the floor, Anthony only averages 11 PPG in 7 contests. Since Suggs returned from his latest injury, Anthony put up point totals of 8-12-9-13, well below his line of 17.5. He also hasn’t taken more than 14 shots in a game. The Bulls defense isn’t anything special, but this does project to be a lower scoring game and with Suggs expected to be in the lineup today, we think there’s plenty of value on Cole Anthony under 17.5 points.
Tyrese Maxey over 17.5 Pts (-115)
Seth Curry and Shake Milton are set to miss another game for the 76ers, which for a second straight game leaves Maxey as the only true PG available. Last game, this led to 45 minutes and 18 shot attempts for the second-year guard from Kentucky and we are expecting similar volume today. Maxey also gets a favorable matchup against a Spurs team who is not only allowing the 6th most ppg to PGs, but they are also allowing the 2nd most ppg to ball handlers in the Pick & Roll set, which is a staple in the Sixers offense. With Curry’s absence, Maxey will now get a majority of the opportunities to run the Pick & Roll with Joel Embiid which opens a ton of scoring chances in the mid-range game and driving to the basket.
