SEC Championship Game PREDICTION

By: Grant Poarch

Can you believe it? The SEC regular season has come to an end. It flew by in the blink of an eye and now I will be graduated the next time I get to go to a SEC game. It’s not all gloomy, though, as my money line record was outstanding this year. I went 82-20 on the money line. While I haven’t done the calculations, I’m sure that must have made money over the long-term. On the other hand, I apologize if you were following my spread predictions all year. While you wouldn’t have lost that much money, the goal was to win and not lose. After the regular season concluded, my record on the spread was 46-50. Today, we’ve got a chance to win so why not take it? With that said, fade me at your own risk and tail me at your inevitable benefit. The odds listed are provided by DraftKings.

12/2: Georgia (-5) vs. Alabama, O/U 55, 4:00PM EST, CBS

Both teams looked poor a week ago but I’d be stunned if we aren’t in for a classic this afternoon. Either way this game goes, the winner should count themselves in for the College Football Playoff.

With the way these two have been playing this year, it should be Georgia comfortably. That kind of thinking when Alabama is on the other sideline almost always leads to people looking stupid.

After all, Kirby Smart is just 1-4 against Nick Saban. The good thing for Smart, though, is in the last matchup between these two Georgia looked far superior. Beyond that, Georgia doesn’t have to prepare for Bryce Young.

Jalen Milroe has been playing a lot of hero ball lately for the Tide and if today is anything like the last few times out then Alabama will be sent home disappointed.

Expect this to be an absolute war. As of late, Georgia has been undeniable and today I expect nothing to change as it relates to that fact.

Prediction: Georgia wins, Georgia covers -5
