predications for Brooklyn nets
By: Anthony K
This NBA season, the juggernaut of the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets, have been faced with many challenges. First things first. Kyrie Irving, not getting the vaccine, was the first blow. The second blow to the Nets was James Harden demanding a trade to get out of Brooklyn. This didn’t help their situation at all. The third blow was Kevin Durant missing some time due to a MCL sprain. All of these things really set this team back. Currently the Nets are eighth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 40-36. This team is better than their record shows. Kyrie has missed a ton of games due to his decision with the Covid-19 vaccine, but now he is able to play in Brooklyn. This changes the game a lot because Kyrie is a threat and goes off at any time. Also, we haven’t seen Ben Simmons play in a Brooklyn uniform yet. This could either help the Nets, or drastically hurt them. Kevin Durant, in my opinion, is the best player in the league and will torch his opponents at any time. If Brooklyn can stay healthy things will finally change for this team. My prediction for Brooklyn is that their ceiling is being the champions of the NBA. Their floor is losing in the first round because their seed, as of today, would be coming out of the play-in. I will never doubt this team because they have KD and Kyrie. Ben Simmons is in no way helping this team, but he could most definitely hurt them in the playoffs. Brooklyn has seven games remaining and it is going to be interesting to see what seed they end up getting in the playoffs. As of right now, they are the eight seed. They will end up playing the number one seed. As it stands now, it is a toss up for who is going to get the one seed. If Boston or Miami gets the number one seed and Brooklyn ends up being the eight seed, I see Brooklyn winning a seven game series against either of these teams. If Milwaukee or Philadelphia is the one seed, then I am not sure which way it will go. The rest of the Brooklyn Nets season will be very interesting. Don’t count them out yet!
