nba playoff update

By: Tres T

The NBA Playoffs have been more entertaining this year than any I can remember in a long, long time. Every single series has been entertaining, they each have their own storyline, and I can’t take my eyes off any of them. Each series has absolutely been neck-and-neck. As of Monday (May 9), here are the series records as they sit.

Philadelphia 76ers/Miami Heat: tied at 2-2

Dallas Mavericks/Phoenix Suns: tied at 2-2

Milwaukee Bucks/Boston Celtics: MIL leads 2-1

Golden State Warriors/Memphis Grizzlies: GSW leads 2-1

On top of the series being as close as they could be, the storyline in each series has all been entertaining as hell. Whether you’re watching to see if a big three can form in Philly, or you’re watching Ja Morant fight for his legacy against the mass-talented Warriors, or you’re picking between watching the former champs take on the young but historic, fighting Tatums, or lastly, the Devin Booker-willed Suns taking on Luka and his crew there are many reasons to see why you are enjoying this year’s Conference Finals. And if I was a die-hard fan of one of these franchise’s, I’d be on the edge of my seat on a nightly basis.

My picks to win each of these series – of course, that none of you care about – are going to have to be the Miami Heat, the Phoenix Suns, the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors, each advancing to the Semifinals. I think they are the best in their respective series despite how close it is currently and how well the their opponents are matching up with them. But, I believe through seven long games, the cream will rise to the top, and these teams will win.

As a miserable (but hopeful) Thunder fan, it sure is no fun sitting on the sidelines having to root for other teams in the Playoffs, but I do have a team I’ve been secretly rooting for during the last few weeks… Maybe I’ll reveal that the next time we speak.
