On Monday night, the Philadelphia Eagles steamrolled the Minnesota Vikings in a 24-7
home opener victory thanks to Jalen hurts constant production on the offense, and Darius Slay
having a lockdown performance on Minnesota’s star receiver Justin Jefferson.
Jalen Hurst improved on nearly every stat from his previous meeting with the Detroit
Lions in week 1. Throwing for 333 yards with both a passing and rushing touchdown. And
improving his completion percentage from 56.2 to 83.9 percent. Even though Hurts threw an
Interception, his passer rating improved to a 108.7 from the previous weeks 80.6. Hurts looked
confident inside and out of the pocket, as he scrambled for over 50 yards and found targets all
over the field. Finally connecting with Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert giving eagles fans
confidence in the offensive chemistry that was missing in week 1 against the Lions.

However, Hurts wasn’t the only one who showed up to play. As Darius Slay ran a
defensive clinic on one of the best receivers in the league. Justin Jefferson against the packers in
week 1 put up a stellar 184 yards with only 9 catches, recording 2 touchdowns. But thanks to
Darius Slays lockdown performance on Monday, Jefferson was held to 6 receptions for 48 yards
with 0 touchdowns. Slay recorded two interceptions while covering Jefferson, with one taking
place in the endzone to which he handed the intercepted ball to Philadelphia 76ers James Harden who had front row seats.

The Eagles look to keep playing well on both sides of the ball when they take on The
Washington Commanders this coming Sunday and improve to a 3-0 record for the first time
since 2016 and improve to a 12-9 record against Washington since September of 2012.
